South Africa offers a coastline that stretches more than 2500km and along two oceans. It is probably the most diverse country you can visit in the deep souther part of Africa, offering you not only rugged coastlines but also wildlife brimming national parks, international city flair, secluded mountain getaways, unique hiking opportunities and some of the worlds best wines.
Our favourite and also specialised track in South Africa is the Namaqualand Route. Only once a year, if the rain falls just right and the sun shines for just the exact amount of hours you will get to see some of the most mesmerising wildflower displays in what is for 11 months of the year probably the most desolate and arid country side you'll visit within South Africa. But for a short amount of time everything turns into vibrant wildflower colours, natural springs, pools and waterfalls are coming to live and if you are lucky you'll even see an Elephant crossing through the red, yellow, purple and blue flower fields.
